RNFI's Simulated Living Lab
A real home for real-world learning
Pebblebrook Farm is RNFI's simulated living lab. Here, everyday life is the curriculum. Participants practice daily living skills, families try technology before bringing it home, and students and volunteers train in a true-to-life setting instead of a classroom.
Scenarios include health and wellness at home, virtual care, remote support, medication routines, smart-home technology, hospital-to-home transitions, and caregiver workflows.

Residential Living Opportunities
Supportive housing models that promote independence, designing environments where adults with IDD can build self-determination, daily routines, and community connections on their own terms.

Work & Job Skills Development
Hands-on learning, vocational experiences, and confidence-building opportunities grounded in real work, because meaningful employment starts with meaningful practice.
- Horticultural and agricultural training on working farm land

Community & Caregiver Education

Inside the Lab
Isa's Barn
Isa's Barn is an adaptive dwelling unit built as a demonstration home for independent living. From the smart lock at the door to the kitchen where participants cook together, every detail recreates real-world conditions, so skills and tools practiced here carry over to life at home.
Independence by design, not by exception. Every space at Pebblebrook Farm was built to ask: what does this person need to thrive, and how do we build that in from the start?
