Get Involved
Help us build a place where independence is by design, not by exception. Whether you bring professional skills or simply a heart for service, there's a place for you at RNFI.
Volunteer Opportunities
RNI volunteers are the backbone of our Independence by Design program. Whether you can give two hours a month or two days a week, we have a pathway that fits your life.
Your time is a
gift that changes lives.
We serve adults with Autism and I/DD, older adults, and their caregivers across Vance, Granville, Franklin, Wake and Johnston counties. Volunteers receive orientation and ongoing support — no prior experience required.
Virtual Companion Network
Regular virtual check-ins, friendly conversation, and remote engagement for adults with IDD. No experience required — just consistency and kindness.
Isa's Barn Respite Support
Provide on-site companionship, activity support, and social engagement at Pebblebrook Farm — giving family caregivers meaningful rest and renewal.
Farm & Horticulture Program
Help lead hands-on farm activities, plant care, and outdoor programming at Pebblebrook Farm. Great for gardeners, educators, or anyone who loves working outside.
Skills & Technology Support
Help adults with IDD build digital literacy and use assistive technology tools from our AT Lending Library.
Community Education & Events
Help plan and facilitate caregiver education workshops and community learning sessions at our Pavilion Community Learning Center.
Professional Skills Volunteer
Offer expertise in law, finance, healthcare, marketing, or technology to support RNI operations, grant work, and program development.
